To ensure we had a nice relaxed holiday, we had kept today as another rest day. However rather than stay in our hotel all day we had booked to go for lunch at Sanaa, which is located at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village.

Over the years we had hear about Sanaa, and blogs like DFB (Disney Food Blog) have reviewed it, so we decided it was a must on this trip.

Our table was booked for 1:50pm, and we arrived a bit early as we were unsure about parking at the resort. We showed the cast member on the resort gate our reservation and he let us though. We followed the signed for Kidani Village and parked in the multi-storey in Timon.

We found where the restaurant was located easily and spent a bit of time outside looking at the animals in Sunset Savannah. Depending on your seat in the restaurant you can see out into this Savannah. You can also book to stay in a room that overlooks the Savannah.

We saw zebras, giraffes, gazelles, kudu, buffalo and lots of different birds while we waited for our table to be ready. Once seated we could see the animals from our table.

We decided to go with an appetiser that we heard and read so much about – the Indian-style Bread Service.

This includes – Five breads with all nine accompaniments – traditional naan, garlic-ginger naan, spiced naan, onion kulcha and paneer paratha.
Accompaniments – cucumber raita, roasted red pepper hummus, mango chutney, tomato-date jan, tamarind chutney, coriander chutney, garlic pickle, red chile sambal and spicy jalapeño-lime pickle.

Now this didn’t disappoint. It is something I will definitely definitely eat again.

Entree wise we went for the Potjie Inspired.

Choose one from the Journey – Goan seafood curry, butter chicken, braised beef or pork vindaloo.

Choose one from the Harvest (plant-based) – Rajma masala, chickpea wat, sakuma wiki, or lentil daal served with scented basmati rice.

I went for the butter chicken and the rajma masala, Beans went with the braised beef with sakuma wiki.
Again we both loved our entrees, and again both declined dessert.

My entree

The cast members again surprised us with magic, bringing me a strawberry flavoured dessert with a white chocolate happy birthday plaque – it was very tasted, Beans and I shared it.

Again we had a quiet rest of the day, I read a book and Beans watched a film on his iPad.
