We had breakfast in our room and headed out to the parks. We got to Animal Kingdom around 11am and parked up. Travel from the parking lot to park entrance was by the tram.

Once in the park we stopped in front of the Tree of life to get a picture, it looked so pretty in the bright sunshine.

We decided to head to the area of the park we often miss out – Dinoland U.S.A., mainly because I had heard this is where Chip and Dale are to be found. A big theme in Dinoland U.S.A. is Donald’s Dino-Bash! While we didn’t see Donald we found Chip and Dale dressed up as dinos. As usual they were their playful selves.

After getting pictures with the cheeky chaps we then had a picture taken with designer Daisy.

Our first ride of the day was Dinosaur, a ride in which you go back in time to try and bring a dinosaur back to the present. I forgot quite how clunky this ride was.

We headed through Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama! to Theatre in the wild where we stopped to watch Finding Nemo The Big Blue…And Beyond. This delightful show was full of colour, and is a really magical telling of Finding Nemo. This show is a must watch, we really enjoyed the music and the acting.

We had a Genie+ for Expedition Everest so started heading there, only to find it had broken down.

While walking across the bridge over Discovery River, between Dinoland U.S.A. and Asia, we saw the character barges coming down the river. There were three barges – one with Launchpad McDuck and Scrooge McDuck, one with Pocahontas and Meeko and one with Minnie, Mickey and Pluto.

We decided on a quick cool down snack. I had a Mickey bar and Beans had a Mickey ice cream sandwich.
We then had a relaxing walk through Asia to Africa towards our next stop which was Kilimanjaro Safaris.

Kilimanjaro Safaris takes you around Harambe Wildlife Reserve. On our safari we were lucky enough to see okapi, rhinos, alligators, zebra, giraffes, elephants, flamingos, leopards, a lion and multiple other animals.

Once we had finished our safari we thought we would head over to Pandora where we were going to go on Avatar Flight of Passage. We got paired with our Navi and entered the ride chamber where we then got to ride our mountain banshee over the World of Pandora.
The ride vehicles seating and restraints can prohibit guests of certain shapes and sizes from riding. I thought this might be me as the back support wouldn’t lock to start with. The cast member released it then really shoved it into my lower back which did make it lock but made for a very uncomfortable ride. At the end of the ride it also didn’t unlock so I was stuck in the ride vehicle.

My back was now hurting quite a lot and we were both feeling quite hungry so we decided to mobile order from Satu’li Canteen, the Pandora quick service restaurant.

We had decided to order a Combination Bowl: Grilled Beef & Chicken, and not realising how big they would be we also ordered the Cheeseburger Steamed Pods – bao buns as we had read reviews about how amazing they were.

I couldn’t decide between the Metkayina Mousse (flourless chocolate cake, chocolate mousse, raspberry gelee, mango coulis, boba pearls, and a milk and white chocolate garnish) and the Blueberry Cream Cheese Mousse (blueberry cream cheese mouse with passion fruit curd) so ordered both, sure Beans would help a bit to eat them.

The food was really good, but much bigger than we thought it would be, which isn’t really a bad thing, so we were both really full so we decided it was time to take a leisurely stroll to the park exit, and then drive back to our hotel.
