I’m allowed to do the write up for our second Hollywood Studios day, as it wasn’t Star Wars Day!!

Again we didn’t get up too early and headed to Hollywood Studios parking in the Minnie section. After a short walk to the car park, and getting sent to bag check again at security, we were in. A tip for security – external batteries, glasses cases and anything square and metal it’s worth taking out your bag and holding in front of you as you go through the scanner, if you don’t you will get sent to bag check, as I found out every time.

We had decided our first stop would be Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, however even though we got there 20 minutes early it was full and were advised to go back later, so we went on the app and used Genie+ to book the next show.

As it was nearby we went across to the Mickey Shorts Theatre and waited to watch Vacation Fun – an original animated short with Mickey and Minnie. The short was really good. One of my favourite things though was the seats as they were a Mickey design. Being in the air con was also lovely.

On coming our Beans said he could do with a drink, so I went on the app to mobile order and selected Dockside Diner, right on Echo Lake. Beans had his usual Coke, I had a Blue Sea Margarita (Patron Silver Tequila, Bols Blue Curacao, and Sweet and Sour), I am on holiday after all!

While Beans drank his Coke in the shade I went to get a selfie with the Cameraman Walt statue. Then headed back to Beans and we set off for Indiana Jones.

We went about 40 minutes early, and got let straight in, it was nice sat in the coolness and shade, out of direct sunlight.

The show was its usual Epic, you can definitely see why it has its name! The stunts are so well done, you really get drawn in. And the heat from the flames you really warm you up, even from mid way back in the stands.

As the exit takes you out by Backlot Express Restaurant we decided we had to try the Wookiee Cookie ($6.29) we had heard about. Beans decided to have that, and I went for the Glimmer and Shimmer Blondie ($4.49). From their prices we weren’t expecting them to be big, the Wookiee Cookie was the size of Beans hand, the Blondie wasn’t much smaller.

Beans had agreed to give Slinky Dog Dash a go, as I promised it’s not a coaster that makes you feel like you are loosing your stomach, which is the thing that puts Beans off coasters. On the way there we had some PhotoPass photos taken in front of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway.

We got on Slinky Dog Dash and Beans loved it, definitely one we will do again together.

Now for something a bit different for us, I had secured Genie+ for myself for Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, and as Beans wouldn’t go on it he got a Genie+ for Smugglers Run, so we split up, agreeing to meet up outside Hollywood and Vine where we were having dinner.

I love the theming of Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster. There has been a lot of talk of late of it being rethemed, so I was making sure I got on it in its original theme while I could. The Disneyland Paris version has been rethemed to Avengers, so while that isn’t likely to be this one would change to, there is talk of it changing to a Powerline theme, which would also be very cool.

Once off, I went to see what the wait for Tower of Terror was like, but due to it having work done on it, taking part of the ride vehicles out of action, the wait was nearly 2 hours, a wait time I didn’t have, so I had a quick look around the shop and then headed to meet Beans.

We met up outside Hollywood and Vine and I checked in on the app. Dinner tonight is a character meal, themed as Minnie’s Silver Screen Dine. Dinner was a buffet, with characters coming up to your table. We met Goofy, Mickey, Minnie and Goofy, all dressed up in their finery, as if going to walk the red carpet.

Once we had finished our dinner it was time to head out of the park and back to the hotel for some much needed sleep.
