So it’s day 7 of our trip, we’ve been to each of the parks once, so now it’s rest day, with some fun booked for late afternoon – Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue.

We spent the morning and early afternoon just relaxing around the hotel, Beans had a play with his lightsaber, definitely his new favourite thing.

Around 2:30 we got in the car and headed to the Magic Kingdom Resort area, our destination Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. We showed our reservation at the gate and were directed to the car park where we would need to get a bus.
Walking to the Outpost Depot bus stop Beans got a sense of deja vu and said behind that wall will be a vending machine. When we got there there was. Turns out many years ago when he had been to WDW he went to River Country, a natural water park that no longer exists, and got the bus to it from there.

We however were getting the bus to Pioneer Hall, located at the back of the resort, you can also get a ferry to here from Magic Kingdom. The bus ride was really tranquil, through trees, past different campsites. Once we arrived at Settlement Depot bus stop, we departed the bus and walked over to Pioneer Hall. We were early so had a look around Settlement Trading Post, the nearby shop.

Around 3:30 we saw the desk where we needed to check in had opened so I walked over and got our slip of paper showing where we were going to be seated. We had picked tier one seating, which is ground level in-front on the stage. For Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue you have to pay when you book.
Just before 4pm (we had booked the earliest of the 3 showing) one of the cast members came out, to show the doors were opened he got one of the queuing children to ring the Pioneer Hall bell.

We were seated quickly and our drinks order was taken. Drinks are two alcoholic beverages per person, soft drinks are unlimited., I went for the white sangria, Beans went for Coca-cola. Our first course followed super quickly.

Soon after the Pioneer Hall Players arrived, and the singing and dancing began. There was comedy included. They didn’t just stay on stage, the came out into the audience, the stools we were sat on swivelled so you could follow them round the room. Singing along and clapping was encouraged.

Pioneer Hall Players

Our main arrived mid-show, and boy are those ribs and fried chicken good. Not to mention the sides. And it was all you can eat. And what can I say the strawberry shortcake is something you have to leave room for, if you don’t you will be missing an amazing treat.

The players talked to various members of the audience, asking where people were from, and generally getting them to join in. The end of the show, nearly two hours later, involved washer boards being handed to each table and you got to play along.

Once the show was over we departed Pioneer Hall and headed back to the bus stop. People were outside waiting for the next show. We took a different bus route back to the car park, still through the campsites and trees and once we got back in the car we headed back to the hotel for an early night, ready for our next park day.
