Having got up quite early we walked to the Disneyland hub with plans to hit California Adventure.
Through security and the park check in gates we found Oswald just inside the entrance and had to get a picture with the iconic rabbit. Without Oswald who knows where Disney would be.
Having walked up Buena Vista Street we met Daisy who was looking glamourous in pink, purple and blue. Goofy was across from us looking very dapper, but he had a huge queue so we decided not to go and meet him at this point.
Our first proper stop of the day was in Grizzly Peak as Beans was desperate to ride Soarin’, it’s his favourite park ride, something I don’t think will ever change. The theme while queuing celebrates aviation history which is a nice difference to WDW.
We got the top level of the middle glider so had an unobstructed view, so glad we didn’t get any feet waving at us which often happens in the middle or bottom row.
Once we had finished our ride we headed to Smokejumpers Grill for cheeseburger, fries and a drink as we were both feeling peckish and hadn’t had any breakfast before heading to the park
After eating we decided tocontinue around Grizzly Peak, which looked so different to the previous night. This area is themed really well, you really feel like you could get lost in the trees or possibly meet a bear.
We tried to walk around past Goofy’s Sky School and Paradise Garden Grill but the path was completely blocked with people watching the Coco special they had on, which we sadly couldn’t stay to watch as we needed to head to Pixar Pier where I had a pass for Incredicoaster – wow that is one spectacular rollercoaster. From 0 to 55mph in 4 seconds is a massive thrill I highly recommend. Only thing I struggled with was the crowd at the end to try and get details of the ride picture, there were too many people squeezed into a small space and you couldn’t see all the screens. I ended up contacting the Photopass team with time of ride and what I was wearing and they were able to find the ride picture and send it to me.
We took a pleasant walk through San Fransokyo Square, where we saw Baymax and Hiro, on our way to Cars Land, which we couldn’t enter aa we had to wait for Lightning McQueen to head backstage before we could continue to the Cozy Cone Motel so I could get a pumpkin pie churro and a pumpkin crème brûlée cold brew martini. Both of which were scrummy.
Next up we took a ride on Radiator Springs Racers, which was so much fun. It really is a well planned ride I can definitely see why it has such long wait times. I think we won the race, but it was a close finish so I maybe wrong.
Next stop was Avengers Campus for some web slingers action – that is definitely a workout for the arms. We were ready for it though having ridden it at DLP. Our score wasn’t too bad, it was our first time riding with a couple we didn’t know, they probably thought we were bonkers as we both just went for it to try and get good score, they were more reserved with the web slinging.
We were both hungry again at this point so went back to San Fransokyo Square for the chilli bread bowl which was absolutely delicious. Really smooth chilli in a cheesy bread Mickey shaped bowl, what more would you want.
As it was getting late and we were both feeling slightly tired with achey legs we decided it was time to head out, with a quick stop on route for a photo with the Walt and Mickey statue. This was a must take picture for me, pictures of the legends that they are.
We had a nice gentle walk back to the hotel, possibly a bit slower than it could have been, but we both don’t usually walk as far as we have been.
