Boo, it’s our last Disney Parks day today so it was up and dressed quickly followed by the walk up the street to the parks.
On entering Disneyland park we decide to take the horse and carriage for a ride up Main Street, which is something we’ve never done in any Disney park so always good to tick off a Disney first.
From our carriage saw Goofy in his celebration outfit doing meet and greets, and the Main Street Band were playing as we went past, they do play some good music.
On exiting the carriage we headed into Frontierland, past Jungle Cruise and over to Indiana Jones Adventure Temple of the Forbidden Eye.
Personally I found this ride a bit too jiggly, which Beans didn’t seem to find. I would happily not ride it again, which is definitely an odd thing for me to say. Beans description of it is it’s like Dinosaur at Animal Kingdom with the bumps etc, Dinosaur I don’t mind so have no idea why I didn’t take to this
Deciding to use more Disney Transport we took the train from New Orleans Square to Toontown as I had a reservation for Matterhorn bobsleds. The scenery from the train is always worth looking at, they theme it so well .
While I loved the ride down the mountain on Matterhorn Bobsleds, being a plus sided person I found the seat pretty uncomfortable.
We had to take a picture of Beans Hank tattoo with Hank on the rocks in Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage. Maybe I should send Beans to join the Tank gang
Next was a short trip on the Monorail to Downtown Disney as we had lunch reservations at Goofy’s Kitchen in the Disneyland Hotel.
Before entering the dining room you get your photo taken with Chef Goofy.
The food options covered everything you could think of, not to mention an amazing dessert selection, I made sure not to stuff myself too much.
While dining we got to meet Pluto, Chip, Dale and Minnie all in chefs outfits. As usual the cheeky chipmunks were their playful selves, definitely trying to cause mischief.
To walk off lunch we took a wander round the shops in Downtown Disney, The Lego shop was pretty cool, World of Disney was huge and had a spectacular range of merchandise, before going back to the hotel for a short break.
After a couple of hours break, followed by a cocktail at the hotel bar, we headed back to the park to watch the nighttime parade, we got a space on the curb at the bottom of Main Street with roughly an hour before the parade start, so we sat down and tried to get comfortable. We let an American couple join us in the space we were in, and had a lovely time chatting to them while waiting for the parade to start..
Watching Paint the Night parade all lit up in neon lights was definitely something I would want to see again, the floats, the dancers and the characters were all super amazing. Sadly, due to being so far down Main Street for the parade we had no chance of getting near the castle for the fireworks so watched the illuminations on Main Street which was still magical.
So so sad that this was our last Disney day so we were sad walking back to the hotel.
